This therapy is for men who have a low level of testosterone. That's a condition we call "low T." Testosterone is the male sex hormone. It plays a role in things like sex drive, bone mass and muscle mass. If your body isn't making enough testosterone on its own, TRT brings the level up to where it should be.
How is it given? You can get extra testosterone in many ways. You can take an oral medication. You can get it from a gel, cream or patch that's applied to your skin. You can get regular testosterone injections. It's also available in the form of tiny pellets that are implanted under your skin. Your doctor will help you choose a method that's right for you.
